Why me

Why work with a backend developer who is already in Surat

Most backend problems start as a conversation about how the business actually runs. That conversation goes faster in the same room.

I've been building backend systems in Surat since December 2022, currently at Codezee Private Limited. Day to day that means REST APIs, MongoDB and PostgreSQL schemas, role-based access, and the unglamorous production features — PDF invoices, transactional email, payment callbacks, reports — that a team relies on every morning.

Surat runs on trading, manufacturing and service businesses where the real rules often live in a ledger, a WhatsApp group or one senior person's head: job-work entries, stock across godowns, GST on every bill, staff who need different permissions. My job is to get those rules out of people's heads and into a backend that applies them the same way every time.

  • Face-to-face scoping

We can meet at your office — Vesu, Adajan, Varachha, Udhna or anywhere in the city — and walk through the workflow with the people who actually do it.

  • Gujarati, Hindi or English

Explain the process in whichever language your team is comfortable with; specs and API docs are written in clear English.

  • Production-first habits

Validation, predictable errors, safe payment handling and readable logs — not just endpoints that pass a demo.

  • Your code, your repository

Everything lives in your Git repository with setup notes, so you are never locked in to one developer.

Services

Backend work I take on in Surat

Most projects are one of these — or a mix of a few.

  • REST API development

Node.js, Express and TypeScript APIs for web apps, admin panels and mobile apps, with authentication, roles and clear error responses.

  • Billing, GST and inventory backends

Invoices with GST, multi-currency where needed, stock that updates on every sale or purchase, PDF bills and Excel exports for your accountant.

  • Database design and clean-up

MongoDB, PostgreSQL or MySQL schemas built around your real records — and help untangling an existing database that has grown messy.

  • Payment and notification integrations

Razorpay and other gateways with proper webhook handling, plus email receipts, reminders and PDF documents.

  • Taking over an existing Node.js backend

Inherited a half-finished project from another developer or agency? I can audit it, stabilise it and keep shipping on top of it.

  • Admin panels and internal tools

Role-based staff panels for orders, stock, bookings or leads — so operations stop living in spreadsheets.

Process

How a Surat backend project usually runs

Small, visible steps — you see working software early and often.

  1. 01

    Meet and map the workflow

An in-person meeting or call to understand who uses the system, which records matter and which rules can never break.

  2. 02

    Written scope and API plan

A short document listing modules, data models and endpoints, so we agree on what is being built before code is written.

  3. 03

    Build in weekly increments

Working endpoints and screens every week, demoed on a staging server — at your office if that's easier.

  4. 04

    Deploy and hand over

Production deployment, environment notes and API documentation, plus a support period agreed up front.

FAQ

Common questions

Can we meet in person in Surat?
Yes. I'm based in Surat, so meeting at your office for scoping, demos or handover is easy to arrange. Day-to-day work happens over calls, chat and Git.
Can you take over a backend another developer started?
Usually, yes. I start with a short code review to see what's solid and what needs fixing, then give you an honest plan — continue, refactor, or rebuild a specific part.
Do you build GST billing systems?
Yes. I've built billing with GST calculation, PDF invoices and Excel reports (see the DiamX case study). Your CA should confirm the tax rules for your business; I make sure the system applies them consistently.
Should we use MongoDB or PostgreSQL?
It depends on your data. Highly relational records like accounts and invoices often suit PostgreSQL; flexible documents like bookings or catalogues often suit MongoDB. I recommend one after seeing your workflow, not before.
Do you only do backend work?
Backend is my focus, but I also build the React or Next.js frontend when a project needs one person end to end.

Need a backend developer in Surat?

Send a short note about what you're building or what's broken. I usually reply within one business day, and we can meet in person if that's easier.
